Offset Wrenches

Offset wrenches are hand tools used for tightening or loosening bolts and nuts. They have a bend or offset in the shank, allowing the user to reach fasteners in tight spaces or at awkward angles. They come in various shapes and sizes, including ratcheting, box-end, and open-end offset wrenches.

Offset wrenches are available in standard metric and imperial sizes.

The most common sizes are:

Note: Offset wrenches are also available in special sizes for specific applications.

Offset wrenches typically come in a few different finishes, including:

  • Chrome plating: provides corrosion resistance and a sleek, polished appearance.
  • Black oxide: provides corrosion resistance and a matte black finish.
  • Nickel plating: provides corrosion resistance and a shiny, silver appearance.
  • Mirror-polished: provides a highly reflective, polished finish for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
  • Sandblasted: provides a matte finish for improved grip and reduced glare.
  • The choice of finish depends on the user’s preference, application, and the level of corrosion resistance required.

Types:

  • Ratcheting offset wrench: has a ratcheting mechanism for quicker turning without removing the wrench from the fastener.Box-end offset wrench: has a closed loop on one end for a more secure grip on the fastener.
  • Open-end offset wrench has an open loop on both ends for a quicker turn but a less secure grip.
  • Double-ended offset wrench: has an offset on both ends, with different sizes on each end.
  • Flex-head offset wrench: has a flexible head that can be angled to reach tight spaces.
