EXAIR’s Air Atomizing Spray Nozzles are designed to atomize fluids using a small amount of compressed air. This mixture of liquid and compressed air allows for a fine mist of atomized liquid that can be easily adjusted to meet the needs of your application. All nozzles come constructed of stainless steel for superior durability and corrosion resistance.
These nozzles come in (3) primarily different families: Internal Mix, External Mix, and Siphon Fed. Today, I’d like to dive into the internal mix variety and provide some information on where these nozzles are going to be most applicable for you.
We call these “internal mix” due to the location in which the air and liquid come together. In an internal mix nozzle, this “mixing” occurs from within the air cap itself. Both the air and liquid sides of the nozzle must be pressure fed. Since they’ll be mixing from within the nozzle itself, we are limited to liquids with a viscosity of up to 300cP. These internal mix style of nozzles do produce the finest atomization that we can achieve with our Air Atomizing Nozzles, making them ideal for solutions that require a very fine mist. The Internal Mix Atomizing Nozzles are offered with 1/8 NPT, ¼ NPT, and ½ NPT air and liquid inlets in a variety of different spray patterns.
Internal Mix Narrow Angle Round nozzles come in all (3) sizes and are perfect for applications that need concentrated mist of liquid. They can apply a heavy coat when positioned close to the material or a very fine mist up to 16’ away!
Internal Mix Wide Angle Round nozzles are also available in all (3) sizes and can be used in applications where we need to treat a broad area.
Internal Mix Flat Fan nozzles, again offered in all (3) sizes, are designed with efficiency in mind. They’re ideal for vertical or horizontal assembly lines and their broad thin pattern makes efficient use of expensive liquids. They can also be adjusted to deliver a light film or a heavy coat of liquid.
Internal Mix 360° Hollow Circular pattern are offered in both 1/4 and 1/2 NPT and deliver a 360° spray pattern in all directions from the nozzle. These are great for processes that require an even coating on the ID of pipe or similar ductwork. They’re also good in cases where we need to apply a mist cover a very broad area (such as dust suppression).
Last, but certainly not least, we have the Internal Mix Deflected Flat Fan nozzle. This is offered only in 1/4 NPT and is designed for processes where space is at a premium.
